Like myriads of flowers blooming in our garden of love, God’s voice is heard in many ways”. In response to this call, we the sistewrs of St. Charles answered the call to start a new mission in Mizoram. The invitation to the new mission was initiated by Rev. Fr. M ichael , the principal of the Saacred Hart School Lunglei, inspired by the Bishop of Mizoram to enlist the services of the Sisters opf St. CXharles oin the diocese of Aizawl.The community at Hnahthial was established on 17th January 2005 in small village called Hnahthial in Lunglei District. The pioneers of the mission were Srs. Aleyamma, Precilla Saldanha ana and Asha Baxla The aim of starting a house was to provide quality educatiuon to the local less fortunate children and also to render medical and social help and care to the local peoplke who were poor and marginalised in many ways. We are callesd to collaborate in the social, pastoral and educational apostolate.

The school was started with a handful of students but gradually it grew and spread and today we have a school from K.G to class VIII with 210 students. The approach roads being bad and conveyance facility very less, the students number remains the same for years. The sisters also involve themselves in social and medical apostolate. Village health awareness programms and health care of babies suffering from Pnuemonia is a common feature in our health centre. The people are exposed to nall kinds of illness like pnuemonia, HIV AIDS , T.B etc. and no faciliy for treatment. One sister assist the people in the health care and try to educate them to care and prevent the diseases. The sisters are happily involved with the people despite the many hazards they face in bering there so far in a hill country.
