Social work

The sisters live in the midst of the villagers and have a good rapport with them. They feel that the people wanted us amidst them and they too happily serve them. Alcoholism is a curse for most the families. The sisters created awareness among the women and motivated them to fight against this evil practice. Several meetings were held to find a solution to stop alcoholism . The women were made into groups of 10 guarding the village and to find out where they prepare the alcohol till late at night they kept watch. The men respected the decision of the women. Thus to an extent they were able to control drinking in some villages. The women were very cooperative so the sisters were able to teach them income generation activities like candle making, wormi compost, sri vidhi method of cultivating paddy , net working with bank, forming SHG groups , tapping Government resources etc.

  • Evening coaching classes were conducted for the children.
  • Family visits were done.
  • Evening prayers were conducted in three groups and some women accompanied each sister for their safety.
  • We visit the sick people and pray for them.
  • Active participation in the church activities such as Sunday catechism, Mahila sangh etc.
